Heartbreak Anniversary: The Disappearance of Roxanne Paltauf

“Have you seen Roxanne?” Louis Walls asked.
With just four words, Elizabeth Harris’ world imploded. What was Louis talking about? Roxanne Paltauf, Lizzy’s daughter, was supposed to be with him, her boyfriend of two years. She asked Louis to elaborate and as he spoke, panic set in.
Much to her daughter’s frustration, Lizzy had never approved of the relationship. Roxanne met Louis on the 4th of July in 2004, she was just 16. Louis told her he was 18 and they began dating. Even though he claimed to be 18, Louis had two children from a previous relationship. Roxanne would often help care for them. Even as a teenager, Roxanne was extremely family-oriented. As the oldest of four children, she was practically an additional mother figure to her younger sisters. Shortly before her disappearance, she organized a family photoshoot. Roxanne paid for the photographer and coordinated the children’s outfits. She loved clothing and fashion design and dreamed of becoming a stylist.
However, Roxanne and Louis quickly discovered their families were not fans of their relationship. Lizzy didn’t like Louis’ attitude…
